A blog reader asked me for advice on how to display her African masks and how to best use photo or art shelves. Without knowing what her space looks like, here are some really nice choices for great displays.

For African masks, I would also hang them together in a group on one chosen wall. The could also hang next to each other, either horizontally or vertically. I would also add some point lighting to highlight the art.

For the shelves I also thinks it's more striking to have them together on a separate wall. I would buy several shelves and fill them with art, photographs, books, candles, plants etc.

A blog reader asked me about this sink and if I had a tutorial on how to do something similar.

Unfortunately I don't but the way I see it, this is a really simple project. Just drill a hole that match the drains diameter and all the bits needed for assembly is included in the drain kit. You should also ask for help at your local supplier.

The biggest problem is to find a beautiful sink and a suitable stand :)

Lizette asked a question about my upholstery projects. She would like to know how to upholster furniture, especially with buttons.

Let me start off by saying that I have no previous experience in upholstery :)

I picked furniture that appealed to me but also furniture that I felt confident I could fix. For me, that meant no buttons or other intricate details!

The sofa and chair has no seams, buttons or other details that need skill. All I had was a staple gun....and time :) Also, my tip is to chose a soft fabric. I worked with vinyl, a very soft vinyl, but it is more difficult. I even had 8 chairs that I started to upholster with a thicker white vinyl but I totally failed so eventually I gave up and sold the half finished chairs....

I also recommend buying a book in the subject and have good tools.

The ottoman had no buttons so I added those. Once again I chose a project that I thought I could complete...

Today I reader needed help finding a kitchen island.....not too big, but fabulous!

Here are some favorites of mine.....

A great idea is having kitchen cabinets on wheels with a proper top. You can adjust the size depending on how many cabinets you choose and you can move it to make more space.

Another good idea is to combine cabinets and open shelves, where you can store books and other beautiful objects.

Depending on how the kitchen looks, a fab idea is to have the cooker in the island.
