Q&A Part One...

One of my readers really needs help with how to decorate a large bedroom without making it to cluttered. I would love to have a huge bedroom myself and here are a few of my personal choices....

Add floor to ceiling drapes. I especially love heavy velvet ones or a fabric that adds to the ambience. By adding lush drapery, the rooms feels cozy, warm, welcoming and dressed.

Add a vintage or contemporary desk in a corner with some really nice lighting, flowers and top it off with a lovely chair. This adds sophisticated mood lighting, gives you a place to work (if you need to) and it just looks grand.

You can also add a divan or a couple of comfy chairs with a little side table with fresh cut flowers...or a small lamp. Add some fabulous pillows and a throw to match.

Another thing that I think makes a bedroom welcoming and cozy is either a huge rug or wall to wall carpets. There is nothing better to step on when you wake up in the morning :)

Exercise Update....

Oh, last week was brutal. Brutal!!
On Saturday morning we did our last session for the week. We did squats, lunges and military presses. Even before leaving the gym, I could feel pain in my butt, that's how fast the pain came. And from there it has only gotten worse, to say the least :( Even just turning in bed while sleeping woke me up in sheer pain. So, walking in stairs, getting up from a chair and going to the toilet will be left unsaid (but I'm sure you can use your imagination what that looks like).
This morning I even had to google extreme muscle pain because I was getting worried that something was seriously wrong (I can still hear my boyfriends voice in the back of my head -Sore muscles is the best feeling! WTF!)
I am also worried about tomorrows session, which includes leg extensions!!
Oh, I just got a message from the others doing the same schedule....and both of them will postpone the next workout because they can't move either (haha). So, I guess it's ok to push it forward a day :)

Wish me luck for this week!

Project Day....Tutu Lamp!

To make these tulle lampshades, simply attach a child's tutu to a lampshade ring, and thread onto a bulb-and-socket cord, then hang from the ceiling.

How to Make It
Use a lampshade wire ring with a washer top as the frame for your lampshade. We used a 10-inch ring with a 1/2-inch recess; the support wires are raised above the ring itself.

We dipped the tutu in a basic pink or rose clothing dye to get a soft pink. Use Magna-Tac adhesive to glue the waistband of the tutu to the outside edge of the lampshade ring, and let dry.

To wire the lamp, use a wire-end socket (or a bare-bulb hanging socket with a cord), plus a replacement plug. You can purchase these electrical supplies at most hardware stores. Cut off the socket cord's original plug, and thread the raw end of the cord through the washer at the center of the lampshade ring; then attach the replacement plug. Slide the lampshade down to the socket. If the shade won't hang level, use electrical tape to wrap the lampshade ring to the socket itself. To hang the lamp, loop the cord through a hook on the ceiling, and use electrical tape to hold it in place. Or thread the cord through a chain, and use the chain to hang the light on a ceiling hook.

6 cl tequila
9 cl blodgrapefruktjuice
1 cl limejuice
1 cl sockerlag
0.5 dl sodavatten

Fyll glaset med iskuber.
Häll alla ingredienser utom sodavatten i en shaker. Tillsätt is. Skaka.
Sila upp drinken.
Toppa med sodavatten.
Garnera med limeklyfta.

Parmesan Straws
Makes 24

1 large egg
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
All-purpose flour for rolling
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and 1 tablespoon water; set egg wash aside. In another small bowl, combine Parmesan, mustard powder, salt, and cayenne; set aside.

On a lightly floured work surface, roll out dough (still folded in thirds) to a 16-by-12-inch rectangle. With short side facing you, cut in half crosswise; brush one side of both halves with egg wash. Sprinkle one egg-washed half with cheese mixture. Sandwich halves together, egg-washed sides facing in; press lightly to adhere. Run a rolling pin over dough to seal.

With short side facing you, cut dough crosswise into 24 strips, each 8 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Place strips, 1 inch apart, onto two baking sheets; twist strips, pressing down on ends to adhere them to sheets. Bake until cheese straws are puffed and golden, 8 to 10 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through.

Late night blogging...

What a painful day! I have had a headache all day (bordering migraine)
and it just won't go away...no matter what I do.
So I have been lying here all day dreaming about details for my home.
Here is today's fantasy shopping list...
